"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord.” II Corinthians 4:5
One of the great missions texts of the Bible is found in Mark 16:15 “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” This short verse reveals a fundamental Biblical truth concerning missions; you can not have missions without action. The word 'go' is an intransitive verb, it demands action. Our command is to go, our mission field is the world, our duty is to preach the Gospel, and our responsibility is to every creature. Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power; after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth" This verse commands us to have a balanced approach to world missions through the use of the word 'both', which means simultaneous, at the same time. While we are reaching our own cities and nation we are commanded to simultaneously reach the rest of the world. Both passages clearly identify our responsibility to take the Gospel to the people groups of the world. Here at Rock of Ages Ministries we take these scriptures literally as our command for world missions. Rock of Ages ministries is established on five continents represented by 139 missionaries commissioned and sent out by their local churches and pastors. Hundreds of pastors and local church volunteers help annually with the ministry and many travel extensively working together with Rock of Ages to help fulfill the Great Commission and spread the Gospel “Into All The World”.
